1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Straven™ ("the Software"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Software.

2. Description of Service

Straven is a security platform that helps individuals and organizations understand and improve their security posture. The Software provides security assessments, risk scores, and recommendations. It is intended for informational purposes only.

3. License

Straven, LLC grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Software for personal or business purposes, subject to these Terms.

You may not:

  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Software
  • Rent, lease, loan, sell, or sublicense the Software
  • Copy or distribute the Software except as expressly permitted
  • Use the Software for any unlawful purpose
  • Remove any proprietary notices from the Software

4. Subscription Tiers

Free Tier

The free tier provides local security scanning features at no cost. These features may be modified or discontinued at our discretion.

Paid Tiers (Plus, Pro)

Paid subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize recurring charges until you cancel. Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by law.

  • You may cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the billing period
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days notice
  • Token and usage limits reset monthly on your billing date

Team and Enterprise Tiers

Team and Enterprise subscriptions are billed per user per month or via custom agreement. Enterprise customers may have additional terms specified in their service agreement.

5. User Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of your device and account
  • Ensuring you have the right to scan any devices or networks you analyze
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Any actions taken based on the Software's recommendations
  • Maintaining confidentiality of your account credentials

6. Team and Enterprise Customers

For Team and Enterprise plans, the account administrator is responsible for:

  • Managing user access and permissions
  • Ensuring team members comply with these Terms
  • Maintaining appropriate security controls
  • Compliance with applicable data protection regulations

7. Disclaimers

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. We do not guarantee that:

  • The Software will detect all security vulnerabilities
  • Following our recommendations will prevent security incidents
  • The Software will be error-free or uninterrupted
  • Security scores are comprehensive or definitive

Straven is a security analysis tool, not a guarantee of security. It should be used as part of a comprehensive security strategy, not as a sole solution.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STRAVEN, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of data or security breaches
  • Loss of profits or business interruption
  • Damages resulting from following or not following recommendations
  • Third-party claims against you

Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the Software in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Services

The Software may integrate with third-party services (AI providers, breach databases). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service. We are not responsible for the availability or accuracy of third-party services.

10. Privacy

Your use of the Software is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Updates and Modifications

We may update the Software and these Terms from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.

12. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the Software at any time for violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your license to use the Software ends immediately. Sections that should survive termination (disclaimers, limitations, etc.) will remain in effect.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of [Your Jurisdiction].
